Ethical dilemmas and challenges to creating a future for humanity
In 2016, Professor Sohail Inayatullah was awarded the first UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies for Sustainability and Humanity, IIUM, Malaysia. He is also co-host of MetaFutures, an educational think tank that explores alternative and preferred futures and the worldviews and myths that underlie them.
Sohail developed the futures technique of causal layered analysis (CLA), which examines issues at four levels – data, systems, worldviews, and narratives/metaphors. This allows for deeper analysis and the creation of transformative solutions.
