Henrique Dias is founder and CEO of NoHarm, A nonprofit startup in Brazil that develops AI-based tools to improve patient safety in the public healthcare system.
NoHarm has received awards and project grants from the Google Research Awards for Latin America, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), and the Meta Llama Innovation Awards.
The startup’s unique approach of providing its solution for free to public hospitals while charging private hospitals has allowed it to scale and make an impact in Brazil.
NoHarm analyzes patient data such as exams, prescriptions, and clinical notes to identify inconsistencies or potential issues with patient treatment, and provides this information to healthcare professionals.
The origin of the idea for NoHarm: It came from the founder’s sister, a clinical pharmacist, and the founder’s own research in AI and natural language processing during his PhD.
